Bachelorette Party Ideas: 18. San Diego

For a bachelorette party that combines surf, sand and a Vegas-like party scene, head to San Diego. This sunny city has more rooftop bars and hotter boys per capita than anywhere else in the country. (Those are observations based off of our experience, not scientific facts.)

As per our usual M.O., we recommend you stay at a hotel that has a killer bar scene. This makes life on your girls' trip or bachelorette party easier--there's no worries about getting into the club, as most hotels offer preferential treatments to their guests, you save money on cab fare and if one of the girls wants to go home earlier, all she has to do is get in an elevator.

Here are a few hotels with rooftop bars you and your girls will definitely want to check out.

The swank Ivy Hotel's (now the Andaz) rooftop is a pool scene by day and one of the cities hottest clubs by night. The hotel says its rooftop is the largest in the city. It's worth staying at the hotel for its yummy Korres amenities and free Escalade chauffeur service around the hood. Not that you'll ever want to leave!

The W hotel in San Diego has a rooftop beach, complete with sand and a fire pit! It is a few blocks further away from all the action in the Gaslamp quarter, but once you get here, you probably won't want to leave.

Last time we went to San Diego, we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which is across the street from the San Diego Bay. Its bar scene is on more of a mezzanine than a rooftop, but what it lacks in height it makes up for in craziness. There's even an on site Nobu to cure your miso-glazed sea bass cravings.

Read on for more about San Diego rooftop bars.
