Gossip Girl Fashion

Finally—after a long, long summer, we get to find out if Blair is really marrying her prince and who is pregnant this time... Eh—who really cares? We gave up on the plot a few seasons ago and like everyone else, we're only watching for the clothes.

Now those fashions are easier to get and more affordable than ever. Romeo and Juliet Couture launched a line of Gossip Girl-inspired clothes and they're going on sale at HauteLook today at 40% off retail. After that, you'll find the looks at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Kitson.

Check out the sale today, starting at 11 EST and be sure to watch Gossip Girl at 8 EST. We'll be tweeting along at JSGAnne. See you there!

Starbucks' 40th Anniversary T-Shirts

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Starbucks—who knew they were around for that long?—partnered with designers Sophie Theallet, Alexander Wang and Billy Reid on a limited edition T-shirt to benefit the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

No surprise, Sophie Theallet's global themed T-shirt (above) is our favorite. It also has a cute ribbon tie back.

Alexander Wang's Starbucks' T-shirt plays off of spilled coffee.

Billy Reid's Starbucks' T-shirt has a vintage vibe.
All three Starbucks' T-shirts cost $85 and are available online and at select Nordstrom.

Get the Mally Glow - Review

I recently did something I never thought I would do the other day: contoured my face. I was inspired to try it on my own, after serving as a model for the Get the Mally Glow kit at a blogger breakfast with Mally last week. (That's Mally working her magic on me. Thanks to OlderGirlBeauty for the photo!)

The kit comes with Perfect Prep Primer in Glow and the Shimmer Shape and Glow compact. One of the things I love best about it is that it comes with foolproof instructions, so even if you don't have Mally there to demonstrate personally how to use the product, it's still like she's there whispering in your ear.

The Perfect Prep Primer in Glow gives you that flawless canvas for your foundation. Word of warning: a little goes a long way. I would actually prefer if this came in a tube instead of the jar, because I think that would help me use less and keep the product more sanitary.

On to the Shimmer, Shape and Glow. As Mally says in her instructions, apply the shimmer on the tips of your cheekbones to just under your temples for an "Instant eye lift!" Next, use the shape to contour your cheekbones. To figure out where, make a kissy face and brush it under your cheekbones. Finish with a pop of blush so you look like you "Just got busy with Johnny Depp," according to Mally.

Having never had the pleasure of getting busy with Johnny and not knowing anyone who has, I can't vouch for that last part. But I can tell you, the kit did give my face more definition, my skin looked flawless and it's super easy to use. Thanks, Mally!

The Get the Mally Glow kit is available at TryMallyBeauty.com. It comes in two shades Life is Lighter or Love is Deeper for $39.95,

Missoni for Target Launch Today

We've been on the edge of our seats since this summer when Target announced their latest collaboration with Missoni. Here's your chance (and ours!) to grab a piece of Italy's iconic style house. Hint: some of the pieces are only available on line.
We'll definitely be buying the clothes; but don't overlook the beauty bags, the home goods, and travel gear:

The upright spinner for $169.99 has everything we look for in a carry on bag: first it's good looking,  it's only 21 inches so it'll fit in the smallest of overhead compartments, it has an outside pocket to stow our mags while we're going through security, and best of all it has four fully pivoting wheels so we can drag it behind us or push it in front of us in a crowded train station.

We can't justify another bike in our houses, not to mention we have too many hills for a cruiser; but if we could, we'd buy this bike anyway. The Missoni pattern, the leather seat and handle bars and the basket are irresistible.

Christian Siriano for Payless Spring 2012

Here's something exciting coming out of fashion week that all of us can afford: the new Christian Siriano for Payless Gold line of shoes for spring 2012.

According to the press release, "[Christian's] runway styles are heavily inspired by the textures and colors from exotic underwater specimens found in Bali, Honduras, and Belize. The shoes uniquely fuse these tropical influences into eight key styles hitting the runway today, translating the mysterious nature of these creatures into colorful, intricate designs."

Fashion's Night Out

The sun is finally shining in New York, which can only mean one thing: It's time to shop! The city (and others around the world) is gearing up for Fashion's Night Out tonight. Still not sure where to go? New York Magazine has a handy guide divided by what your main objective is tonight. It helps you find the celebs (Justin Beiber at Dolce and Gabbanna!), free food (Mr. Softee at Vera Wang) or beauty must haves (Essie Manis at the Teen Vogue Bleecker Street block party).

As for us? We'll be hanging at the chicest vintage store we know A Little Wicked, where the Moreno sisters are the only draw we need!

Not in New York, check out the other Fashion's Night Out events around the country or buy the T-shirt to support the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.

Banana Republic's Mad Men Collection

Even though you have to wait until 2012 for the next new episode of Mad Men, you can still take fashion inspiration from the show now—as in today. The Banana Republic Mad Men collection, a collaboration with the show's costume designe, Janie Bryant, launched online and in select stores this morning. (Note: the selection is smaller online than it was in the Rockefeller Center store.)

Yesterday I super excited to attend a press event for the launch. That's me above, doing my best Joan interpretation (admittedly, it leaves A LOT to be desired).

Among the many in demand pieces are this leopard print cardi. Our advice: order it now before it sells out!

Per FTC regulations, JSG has a relationship with Banana Republic.

Kate Spade's Lillian Bassman Capsule Collection

Lillian Bassman for Kate Spade

Kate Spade's capsule collection features Lillian Bassman, the brilliant fashion photographer of the 50's and 60's who produced black and white images. "Touch of Dew" was taken in 1961 of model Lisa Fonssagrives. The photo's movement and female power is a perfect addition to our carry on totes. The capsule includes this tote, a small zippered wallet and a scarf. The tote and wallet are printed on leather with a cream and gold woven lining.

How to Pack for a Beach Weekend

Beach Weekend

Headed to the beach this weekend? Here's everything you need to pack:
A bikini like the Diane von Furstenberg vintage style bathing suit is a no brainer. For a coverup, try the Tie-Dye Babydoll Cover-Up Dress from Kohl's or pair with jeans shorts, like these from Express. If you're headed out aprés-pool or beach, top with a tunic-style sweater like this one from Anthropologie. For nighttime, opt for one short and one long dress, because you always want to keep 'em guessing. Our picks are from Shopbop (short red) and Free People (gray strapless). Don't forget a great pair of nude sandals and a crochet tote.

The BootyWrap

We're all too cool for fanny packs; but they serve a purpose. They're good for stashing your keys, cash and lipstick when you're running errands, walking the dog, or just don't feel like lugging your purse around. Yesterday we found a much better solution: the BootyWrap. It's like wearing a sweatshirt around your waist with secure zippered pockets; but without the bulk. Plus, it covers your backside which is perfect for the gym. It comes in blue, white, black and grey for only $30. Order it at www.bootywrap.com and put that fanny pack back in the closet!

Halston at One and Only Resorts

one and only Halston

One and Only resorts is continuing its program of partnering with designers for exclusive items available only at their hotels. (Remember these Louboutins?) Halston's Mario Schwab found inspiration for his dusty pink silk chiffon dress by imagining a sandy beach holiday, while French designer Maloles Antignac, known for her signature ballet flats, created these a limited edition line of her Isabella sandal in  pink and gold braided leather.

Both items are available exclusively at One and Only resort boutiques in the Maldives, Los Cabos Mexico and Mauritius.

Vineyard Vines Swimwear Launch

Vineyard Vines
Vineyard Vines may have started with neckties; but this summer they've launched a line of preppy-but-sexy bikinis that will keep you en vogue on Martha's Vineyard and beyond. We chose the Starfish and Ropes bandeau bikini. If you're going to get some sun, you can untie the straps and avoid pesky suntan lines. Don't forget to wear your sunscreen! Separates start at $55.

Tory Burch Resort Preview

Last week, we stopped by the Tory Burch showroom to check out the resort 2012 collection. The inspiration, in Tory's words:

"For Resort 2012, we were inspired by the colors and textures of Santa Fe. Pale desert shades of rust, yellow and aqua mix with bold turquoise, bright orange and red on geometric and floral prints. Other elements of the American Southwest are seen in rich, knotted silk fringe scarves on tie-neck blouses and wide fabric belts. Tweed woven ponchos, basket-weave jackets and color-blocked sweaters are paired with boyish trousers and tailored shorts. Feminine details include ruffles, gold buttons and embroidery. Bucket bags, printed burlap totes and canvas shoes pick up on the textures of the desert, while raffia and pom-pom necklaces feature special details like gold-cast cactus spines."
Here are a few of our favorite pieces from the collection:

A printed halter dress

Raffia totes and wedge heels
 A stunning necklace
The world's cutest beach cover up

The Tory Burch Resort collection is available in stores November 15th, 2011.

Here's a chance to grab a piece of Missoni that won't set you back a paycheck or two. Missoni has teamed with Havaianas and designed flip flops and espadrilles. Not only will these babies be fun to wear on the beach and look hot with our white jeans; but they'll be easy to find in our closet. What to Wear at Jazz Fest

Next week I'm headed to New Orleans for Jazz Fest, and while it's not my first time in the city it is my first time at the music festival. I'm taking my cues on what to wear from the attendees at the recent Coachella and am aiming for casual, hippie chick cool. While my first inclination would be to wear a cute sundress, something about eating crawfish and fried oyster po' boys seems down an dirty and cries out for shorts.

JSG on Kohl's Facebook Style Page

Kohl's Facebook
