Retouch Your Photos

Retouched photo

There may be a backlash over retouching photos in the print magazines and in advertisements, but we're not above tweaking our own photos a bit. After all, who knows when an ex-boyfriend is going to stumble on your Facebook page?

We recently discovered Fotoflexer.com that not only allows you to remove red eyes from photos, but you can also erase pimples, zap wrinkles and even make your under eye circles vanish (If only there were a foolproof beauty product that would do this all for us!).

You can also do traditional editing such as cropping and fix bad lighting. Try it out for yourself, before you post all those photos from your summer trips!

Paris 2Go City Guide

Paris 2Go is an app that you can download for you iPod, iTouch or iPad and access offline- no WiFi or Internet is necessary. We reviewed Paris 2Go and wish we had it on our recent trip there! It has detailed maps of the city with street searching capabilities, a full Metro map including which stop to take for each attraction, details on 4,800 points of interest (everything you need to know about the Louvre, Eiffel Tower and much more), and 600 articles about the city's history, interests and geography. You can find it on iTunes for $0.99.

There are at least 15 other city apps including New York, London, Rome, Chicago, Munich and Prague. Also the City Maps 2Go app has hundreds of maps (over 2,400) that you download and access without further needing WiFi.

Designer iPad Cases

So what if we're only dreaming about owning an iPad at the moment. When we do take the leap, there are plenty of covetable iPad cases to keep our technology safe.

Oscar de la Renta was inspired to make this limited edition case after he got his very own iPad. The embroidered leather case comes in carnation (shown) white, marigold and stone. It's lined in ultra suede and has a snap closure. The Oscar de la Renta iPad case is available online.

Ferragamo offers a calfskin leather iPad case with a practical clutch handle. It comes in mandarin (shown), black and moss. It's also available in canvas with leather trim. Available at Ferragamo stores.

Douney and Bourke's iPad case is made of the company's famed cabriolet fabric, the same that is used on Porsche convertibles. The cases are stain and fade resistant and waterproof for the clutzy among us.
