Contest Alert: Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest

Barrett Hedges National Geographic photo

Think your photos have what it takes to be published in National Geographic? Enter to have them published in the magazine in the 4th Annual Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. The winner also gets to pick a dream trip: an Alaskan cruise, a Moroccan odyssey or a journey across Bhutan in the Himalayas. That's last year's winning photo above, taken by Barrett Hedges.

Whether you're a budding professional photographer or just enjoy snapping pictures of friends for your Facebook page, the Energizer® Ultimate Lithium batteries are a must for any trip. They last up to 8 times longer in digital cameras, so not only will you never miss that shot because your battery died, you can use up to 8x fewer batteries and create less waste for the planet.

To enter, log on to www.nationalgeographic.com/lithium. You can submit a photo by June 30 in each of the six thematic categories: animals/wildlife, nature/weather, travel/cultures, family/community, arts/music and action/energy. From there, 20-year National Geographic photographer and contest judge Jim Richardson will review all of the entries and select two finalists in each Category. Then, from Aug. 15 through Sept. 15, the public will be asked to go online and vote for their favorite in each category. Once the Category Winners are determined, Richardson will help choose a Grand Prize Winner, to be announced on or about Nov. 8.
